Pinentry-curses

pinentry-curses ist ein Programm, das die sichere Eingabe von PINs oder Passphrasen ermöglicht.

Funktion

• Sicherstellen, dass die eingegebenen Informationen nicht auf die Festplatte übertragen oder irgendwo vorübergehend gespeichert werden.
• Besonders nützlich für die Eingabe von Passphrasen, wenn Verschlüsselungssoftware wie GPG oder E-Mail-Clients verwendet werden, die diese verwenden.
• Verwendet ein offenes Protokoll und ist daher nicht an eine bestimmte Software gebunden.
• Implementiert ein PIN-Eingabedialogfeld mit dem Curses-Toolkit.
• Ist besonders hilfreich für Benutzer, die im Textmodus ohne das X-Window-System arbeiten.
• Wird typischerweise intern von GPG-Agent verwendet.
• Benutzer haben normalerweise keinen Grund, es direkt anzurufen.

Optionen

OPTIONS

Option	Beschreibung
--version	Gibt die Programmversion und Lizenzinformationen aus.
--help	Gibt die wichtigsten Optionen aus.
--debug, -d	Aktiviert das Debuggen. Am nützlichsten für die maintainer. Beachten Sie, dass dadurch möglicherweise vertrauliche Informationen, wie die eingegebene Passphrase angezeigt werden.
--no-global-grab, -g	Nimmt man die Tastatur nur, wenn das Fenster ausgewählt ist. Man verwendet diese Option, wenn man Software mit pinentry-curses debuggt wird. Andernfalls kann man möglicherweise nicht mehr auf seine X-Sitzung zugreifen (es sei denn, man ha andere Möglichkeiten, eine Verbindung zum Computer herzustellen, um pinentry-curses zu beenden).

--version

   Print the program version and licensing information.

--help

   Print a usage message summarizing the most useful command-line options.

--debug, -d

   Turn on some debugging. Mostly useful for the maintainers. Note that this may reveal sensitive information like the entered pass phrase.

--enhanced, -e

   Ask for timeouts and insurance, too. Note that this is currently not fully supported.

--no-global-grab, -g

   Grab the keyboard only when the window is focused. Use this option if you are debugging software using pinentry-curses; otherwise you may not be able to to access your X session anymore (unless you have other means to connect to the machine to kill pinentry-curses).

--parent-wid N

   Use window ID N as the parent window for positioning the window. Note, that this is not fully supported by all flavors of pinentry.

--display STRING, --ttyname STRING, --ttytype STRING, --lc-type STRING, --lc-messages STRING

   These options are used to pass localization information to pinentry-curses. They are required because pinentry-curses is usually called by some background process which does not have any information on the locale and terminal to use. Assuan protocol options are an alternative way to pass these information.
